WHERE DO THE LIFE STORY QUESTIONS COME FROM?
The Life Writer’s questions come from real world experience, from working with our customers. The Life Writer began as a customized one-customer-at-a-time life story writing business and the questions generated from that service have been incorporated into The Life Writer App. They have been copyrighted, and are exclusively for The Life Writer customers to use.
CAN I ADD PHOTOGRAPHS TO MY BOOK?
Yes, please do! The Life Writer has been designed to let you add photographs, old letters, family recipes, newspaper clippings, or any other digitized item. Please add as many as you wish. When adding a photograph, consider describing what was going on in the photo. Having photographs is great, but having the story behind the photograph is even better!
CAN MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS HELP ME WRITE MY LIFE STORY?
Yes. The Life Writer has been designed to let your family and friends help you write your story, if you wish. They can also add photographs and other content. To do that, you email them a special link which the app provides. That link will grant them temporary access to your story.
HOW MANY LIFE STORY QUESTIONS DO I HAVE TO ANSWER?
That number is totally up to you. You decide which life story questions to answer and how many. The Life Writer will offer questions for you automatically, based upon your background. You can skip as many of those as needed and use your own questions and content only if needed. The questions just make the process fast, easy, and fun.
HOW WILL MY LIFE STORY BOOK BE PRINTED AND DELIVERED TO ME?
Once you begin answering the life story questions, your book will automatically be organized into a pre-set format with chapters (that format is flexible, and you can change it if you wish). When you are done answering all the questions and have added all the other content, you can elect to have the book sent out digitally to The Life Writer’s affiliated on-line publisher, lulu.com (additional printing fees required). Your final book(s) will then be printed by that publisher and delivered to your door via U.S. mail, UPS, or Federal Express.
WILL ANYONE ELSE SEE WHAT I’VE WRITTEN INSIDE MY BOOK?
No. No one else will see what you have written inside your book, unless you decide to share it with them. The Life Writer, Ltd. staff does not routinely access or monitor any customer projects, and we would NEVER disclose the contents of a customer’s book. The confidentiality of your life story is one of our highest priorities. We will ensure that your story remains confidential and that it is only accessible to you (and those you have asked to help with your story, if you have).
WHO WILL LEGALLY OWN MY FINAL LIFE STORY?
You will. As the writer of your life story memoir, you alone will own that final end product.
IS THERE ANY TIME LIMIT ON COMPLETING MY LIFE STORY?
No. There is currently no time limit on completing your life story. You can take as long as you need to do that.
DO I HAVE TO PRINT OUT MY LIFE STORY?
No. You do not have to print out your life story. That is just an option. If you would like to keep (and possibly share) the e-book version of your life story, you are totally welcome to. There is no book printing obligation required.
SHOULD MY LIFE STORY ANSWERS BE JUST FACTS?
No. Your answers to the life story questions should include your thoughts and feelings whenever possible. The facts regarding your life are important, but your thoughts and feelings are often times more important. Those details will also make your story very interesting, and be appreciated by your family and friends. Tell them what you thought and how you felt.
HOW LONG DO MY LIFE STORY ANSWERS HAVE TO BE?
You decide how long your answers will be. Your answers can be short (just a sentence) or long (dozens of pages). There is almost no limit to question answer length, so please answer the questions with as much detail as you wish.
HOW MANY BOOKS CAN I ORDER?
You can order as many books as you like. The book printing option begins at one and extends out to as many as you need.
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON THE BOOK’S LENGTH?
Your book’s final length will depend upon how many questions you have answered, and how many photographs (or other items) you have added. The average life story book ranges from 130 to 250 total pages, but The Life Writer’s affiliated publisher can print books anywhere from 32 to 740 total pages in length.
DO I HAVE TO USE THE LIFE WRITER BOOK PUBLISHER?
No. The publisher(s) The Life Writer is affiliated with have excellent service and quality, are reasonably priced, and have been specifically designed to work with that software application. But many publishers can also print your book because the final format is a PDF, suitable for printing almost anywhere.

The Life Writer Pearls of Wisdom are life lesson advice and wisdom provided by our customers and friends. They are meant to inform, entertain, and inspire. The Life Writer “Pearls” can be found on The Life Writer web site. They are for everyone to share and enjoy.

Yes. The Life Writer Ltd. was founded in Columbus, Ohio several years ago. The Life Writer program has been patented by the US Patent And Trademark Office (USPTO) and the questions used inside the app have been copyrighted by the US Library of Congress.

HOW MUCH DOES THE LIFE WRITER APP COST?
We currently offer one payment option: a Yearly Subscription.
Yearly Subscription: Pay $129 per year and enjoy 12 months of full access to The Life Writer App. This option gives you plenty of time to work on your memoir at your own pace and, if you wish, collaborate with family members along the way.
Your subscription provides access for one full year from the date of purchase.
Please Note: We do not offer free trials. However, if you sign up for the yearly subscription and, for some reason, are unhappy with The Life Writer after a few days, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss a refund.
