I wanted to share the article below because of what Jeremy Middleton (a memoir reader) said after reading his father’s life story:

“…When I read it I can hear my father’s voice. He didn’t talk about the war much and, although we had heard the odd story, I had no idea what it was really like until I read his memoirs. I decided to publish it as it brings history alive by recounting at first hand the real experiences of that generation, experiences my generation has been spared, and that I hope and pray my children will be spared too.’’

Jeremy lists many great reasons to have and read a loved one’s life story.

He also describes why you should write your story in your own words and not worry about using “The Kings English” or perfect grammar.  Your readers already love you. They want to hear your voice – the way you normally talk – when they read your story.

Many great points, Jeremy. Excellent idea to publish your father’s life story!
